Neodyne Technologies specializes in designing, engineering, and managing misson critical projects for demanding industries including professional motorsports, areospace, and defense. The Panther Racing indycar team contracted Neodyne to engineer and procure a challenging custom modifications to the National Guard Indycar, an pitstop adjustable rear wing to give the driver, Dan Wheldon a unique edge during the race.
At 220+ miles per hour, there is no room for error. A rear wing at the Indy 500 can develope as much as 4,000 pounds of downforce. The adjustable rear wing mount had to be extremely strong, with absolutely no play in the assembly. Quality and finish had to be second to none! Robert Perez knew Zero Hour Parts had the skills and experience to manufacture these components from a variety of materials including hardened 17-7PH stainless and 7075 aircraft grade aluminum. The uniqueness of this project required several supporting processes to CNC machining such hardening to the exact temper required and electrostatic discharge machining (EDM) of non standard features. All components were completed and delivered within two weeks of recieving the purchase order.
Zero Hour Parts trilled to have been a part of Dan Wheldon’s second place finish in the 2010 Indianpolis 500 in the National Guard Indycar. Give your team the winning edge and contact Zero Hour Parts today!
